A few years ago I attended a lecture given by our local 3MESPE representative.  The topic was on how to take an impression.  As a ceramist I don’t have to take impressions, but I have fielded many questions from dentists over the years on impression material and how to avoid problems that occur during the impression-taking process.  Even the most experienced practioner can encounter difficulties while taking an impression.

The handout that accompanied this lecture was concise and clearly explained the problems that can occur while making an impression, and more importantly, what problems can occur from working with a substandard impression. I hope you find it helpful.
